Chelseaia Charran is a Trinbagonian (from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago) doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin studying Multicultural Special Education. She desires to join the collaborative efforts of the community of people who aspire to shape the future of her nation.
After completing her Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Special Education at The University of Texas at Austin, she decided to pursue her research in international and comparative special education primarily in the Caribbean. She is passionate about making lasting change to the educational system in Trinidad and Tobago and influencing national education policies around the globe based on international contemporary practices.
During her undergraduate studies, Chelseaia devoted her efforts to two Bachelor degrees from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro: Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Amidst contemplating her groundbreaking research out of office, Chelseaia does so while participating in open water swimming, training with the Texas Longhorn Aquatics Masters Swim team and painting.
