Meghan Dwyer Lehr is a doctoral candidate in Educational Policy and Planning. Her research interests include the impact of principal training on school environment and teacher turnover.
In 2002, Meghan began her career at a start-up political marketing firm in the Washington, D.C. area. She was responsible for creating fundraising pieces for national candidates and tracking their progress through the production process. She also worked closely with the company’s owner to ensure the company’s financial stability, and to generate several million dollars in revenue in the company’s third year. After working on a presidential campaign, Meghan left the company to pursue a career in education. She taught English for five years, and was the Head Swimming coach for three years at Stony Point High School, where she was nominated as Teacher of the Year, and voted Favorite Sophomore teacher two years in a row.
Meghan holds an M.A. in Education from Pepperdine University (2005) and a B.A. in English with a focus on Creative Writing (2002) from Middlebury College in Vermont.
